Job Summary
Wingate University seeks an Executive Director of Sports Medicine Services to provide strategic leadership and clinical expertise in sports medicine, requiring a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, ATC certification, and 5 years of clinical experience.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree required
- Licensed Physical Therapist with current state license in good standing
- Board Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) credential required
- Minimum 5 years of progressive clinical experience in sports medicine, rehabilitation, or related field
- Demonstrated expertise in post-surgical, complex, and chronic case management
- Strong knowledge of rehabilitation protocols, return-to-play programming, and evidence-based practices
- Experience with medical documentation and billing processes for insurance reimbursement
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Board Certification in Sports Physical Therapy (SCS)
- Previous experience leading a sports medicine or rehabilitation program in a collegiate or professional athletics setting
- Experience developing and/or directing a sports physical therapy residency program
- Demonstrated success in maximizing third-party reimbursement models
