Job Summary

Lead districtwide oversight for Gonzales ISD's Special Education and Section 504 programs, ensuring compliance with IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and Texas Education Code while promoting positive student outcomes. Establish and monitor systems for Child Find, evaluation, eligibility, ARD/IEP development, and service delivery; lead responses to TEA monitoring, audits, and corrective actions. Develop and evaluate a districtwide improvement plan, analyze student achievement and service-delivery data, and provide regular reports to district leadership. Supervise assigned personnel, manage the Special Education budget, and coordinate professional learning. Represent the district with TEA, regional Education Service Center personnel, and community agencies. Work primarily in central-office and school environments with frequent campus visits, including evenings or weekends as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, Educational Administration, or related field
  • Valid Texas educator and administrative certification appropriate to the assignment in accordance with SBEC requirements
  • Campus administrator experience
  • Texas Special Education certification
  • Minimum five years of progressively successful experience in special education, with demonstrated administrative leadership experience

  • Experience with districtwide special education systems, ARD/IEP processes, evaluation, compliance, personnel supervision, and program management
