Job Summary
Lead the Property Tax Analysis Unit within NYC DOF's Tax Policy & Data Analytics Division. Oversee policy analysis on property tax topics (payments, delinquency, exemptions/abatement benefits, and reforms), maintain data integrity across TPDA's analytical file (merging property tax, income tax, exemptions, and other data), supervise production of key reports (annual property tax report, property section of annual tax expenditure report, weekly delinquency reports), coordinate large mailing initiatives, develop and test property tax databases and systems (PTS, SmartFile), collaborate with the Solutions Delivery Office for vendor updates, and expand analytical capabilities by pursuing renter income data and RPIE longitudinal framework. Stay current on data science trends, serve as the subject-matter expert on valuation methodology and related programs, and brief senior leadership on policy matters. The role may offer remote work up to 2 days per week under the agency's pilot program; in-person remote option is indicated.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent professional experience as described in the provided posting
- two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in economic/financial research, budget administration, or related fields (with at least 18 months in executive/managerial capacity) or an equivalent combination as detailed in the job description
