Job Summary
Provide leadership and oversight for HR staff, departmental functions, required reporting, and compliance filings. Collaborate with senior leadership and the board to align retention, organizational development, and management strategies. Plan, lead, develop, and implement policies, processes, training, and initiatives to support human resources, compliance, and organizational goals. Administer the HR system, create reports, analyze data, and make recommendations. Provide expert advice and coaching to leaders, managers, and employees. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, colleges, community partners, and YMCA & BGC representatives. Attend Board of Director meetings and other board-related events. This executive-level role may require on-call responsibilities during unusual hours, weekends, and holidays. The candidate brings strategic insight and a people-centered approach to overseeing compensation, benefits, leave management, employee relations, recruitment, performance, and training.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or relevant field
- Thorough knowledge of State and Federal employment laws
- Working knowledge of MS Office and HRMS experience
- Minimum of 5 years of human resources generalist experience
- Minimum of 2 years managing and directing staff
- Ability to think strategically
- Excellent computer, organization and follow through skills
- Ability to meet deadlines under pressure
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Strong ability to lead, develop and manage a team
- On-call responsibilities during unusual hours during the week and on weekends
