Job Summary
Lead the group sales team in developing and executing strategies to attract large-scale events, conferences, and corporate groups while ensuring consistent revenue growth. Promote the resort's 90,000 square feet of meeting and event spaces to showcase Sandestin as the ideal destination for corporate meetings, incentive travel, and association events. Cultivate long-term relationships with corporate clients and meeting planners, providing exceptional service to ensure seamless planning and execution. Mentor the sales team, set high-performance standards, and facilitate training to improve effectiveness. Monitor industry trends and competitor offerings to maintain market leadership, while collaborating with operations, catering, and marketing departments to align initiatives with resort objectives. Prepare budgets, forecasts, and sales reports to track performance against metrics. Requires a Bachelor's degree, five years of luxury resort group sales experience, and ability to travel locally or regionally.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in group sales within the luxury resort, hospitality, or events industry
- Proven track record of successful sales and revenue growth, with a focus on group sales
- Strong leadership skills, with experience managing and motivating sales teams
- Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills
- Familiarity with sales management software and CRM systems
- A passion for customer service, hospitality, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods, utilizing computers, phones, and other office equipment
- Occasional walking and standing throughout the resort to tour conference spaces and meet with clients
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally, for tasks such as moving presentation materials or setting up displays
- Visual and auditory ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members
- Flexibility to travel locally or regionally as needed to meet with clients or attend industry events
- Availability to work varied shifts, including occasional weekends and evenings, based on client needs and event schedules
