Job Summary

Executive leadership role for a nationally recognized nonprofit in Arlington, VA, directing development strategy to achieve sustained revenue growth, including planning and executing a $25 million capital campaign over 5 years, managing major gifts and grants, overseeing the development team and donor relations, and coordinating with the Development Board to advance fundraising goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 8-10 years of demonstrated experience in development, board management, special event fundraising, project management and event management including large-scale, complex, high-profile events with ability to plan and monitor projects from inception through completion
  • Proven track record of managing million-dollar capital campaigns
  • Demonstrated experience soliciting and raising major gifts
  • Solid knowledge of the Federal, State, Local and Private grants and demonstrated experience with successfully obtaining grants
  • Experience cultivating and managing relationships with senior level staff, Board of Directors, and committee volunteers
  • Experience in successfully negotiating all vendor contracts in support of development activities
  • Experience working with non-profit organizations, volunteers and volunteer committees preferred
  • Experience creating campaign marketing materials
  • Experience with event budget development
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel. Proficiency in Outlook applications. Knowledge of Raisere29s Edge, Donor Perfect, or similar donor database software preferred
