Job Summary
Executive Director to provide overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational management of NAAG, overseeing daily operations, budgeting and investments, and program execution while advancing the organization’s mission. Leads a team of approximately 55 staff, serves as liaison to government entities, and ensures effective collaboration and communication across stakeholders. Requires strong strategic thinking, ethics, bipartisan collaboration, risk management, and the ability to govern across complex legal and policy programs; position based in Washington, DC with significant travel and a strong preference for local presence.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active bar membership in a U.S. jurisdiction
- Minimum of fifteen years of professional/legal experience, preferably within an attorney general’s office, district attorney’s office, U.S. Attorney’s office, military JAG, or a related government agency
- Senior management/executive leadership, and non-profit experience is preferred
