Job Summary
Direct primary research focused on global syngas chemical markets, including methanol, ammonia, and hydrogen derivatives. Oversee price forecasting processes and communicate key messages internally and externally while establishing industry leadership through subject matter experts. Build relationships across producers, consumers, and the financial community, and collaborate with sales to identify new business opportunities. Advise content leaders on research topics and coordinate market presentations for client meetings and conferences. Ensure adherence to price discovery standards and serve as a liaison between Dow Jones Energy and external suppliers. Requires 15+ years in chemical industry markets, management of 10+ direct reports, and advanced data analytics skills. Base pay ranges from $200,000 to $245,000 with a hybrid schedule.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years' chemical industry experience
- Experience in methanol, ammonia, hydrogen and associated derivatives
- Experience in market intelligence and/or strategic planning
- Experience creating and launching new products
- Experience managing 10+ direct reports
- Experience mentoring skip-level reports
- Experience managing highly experienced multi-disciplinary, market experts
- The ability to identify and articulate core/essential issues within complex problems
- Experience delivering insights and solutions
- Experience managing ambiguity with minimal direction
- Advanced knowledge of Excel manipulation
- Experience with VBA scripting
- Experience with PowerBI, Spotfire and/or Tableau
- Chemical engineering, chemistry, business or economics degree
- Equivalent work experience in a technical field
- Post-graduate academic work in a technical field such as PhD or master's in data science chemical or petroleum engineering
