Job Summary
Lead the development of new research products covering global energy markets, including crude oil, natural gas, and refined products, while directing primary research on upstream production and refining trends. Oversee the energy price forecasting process and communicate key messages internally and externally, acting as a liaison between Dow Jones Energy and external suppliers. Establish and maintain industry expertise by deploying subject matter experts to events, media, and client engagements, and build relationships across producers, consumers, and the financial community. Collaborate with sales to identify new business opportunities and coordinate market content for consulting projects and client development. Manage the team of 10+ direct reports, ensuring adherence to price discovery standards and consistent global coverage.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years' upstream, downstream, and/or midstream industry experience
- Experience in managing 10+ direct reports
- The ability to identify and articulate core/essential issues within complex problems and deliver insights and solutions
- Experience managing ambiguity with minimal direction
- Advanced knowledge of Excel manipulation including VBA scripting
- Chemical engineering, chemistry, business or, economics degree
- Equivalent work experience (post-graduate academic work in a technical field such as PhD or master's in data science chemical or petroleum engineering)
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience creating and launching new products
- PowerBI, Spotfire and/or Tableau experience
- Python knowledge
