Job Summary
Direct hospice services and establish clinical standards to comply with federal, state, and Medicare guidelines. Manage operational planning, budgeting, and financial stability while overseeing staffing, performance evaluations, and interdisciplinary care coordination. Conduct regular staff meetings, ensure complete data collection for the governing body, and direct admission, discharge, and transfer processes. Maintain compliance with the Performance Improvement program, review invoices, and oversee the Administrator on-call rotation. Participate in hiring, annual performance evaluations, and mandatory continuing education to support department goals.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of hospice management experience
- Good working knowledge of hospice federal and state guidelines
- Medicare and Medicaid hospice payor requirements knowledge
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, direct, and motivate professional and administrative personnel
- Ability to deal tactfully with the community
- Knowledge of corporate business management
- Ability to communicate an understanding of hospice care and the services provided to patient and family/caregivers through an interdisciplinary group
- Current CPR certification
- Licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order
- Excellent observation skills
- Problem solving skills
- Verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload independently
- Minimum of 8 education hours in continuing education
- Ability to accept personal responsibility for other educational activities to enhance job related skills and abilities
- Attendance at mandatory educational programs
