Job Summary
Executive Director / Director at CIBC Global Asset Management partners with the COO to translate financial and business performance into strategic insights and decisions. The role leads revenue strategy, client segmentation, pricing, operating efficiency, and competitive intelligence across GAM’s distribution platforms (Retail, Online/Self-Directed, Private Wealth, Institutional, and U.S. Private Wealth). A primary focus is interpreting profitability, asset-under-management dynamics, and KPI trends to shape where to invest, how to optimize, and how to position GAM for sustainable growth; the role also involves shaping a forward agenda, developing decision-ready narratives for senior leadership, and collaborating with Finance to define analytics and KPIs. Details on the work arrangement will be discussed during the interview, with a base salary range provided and incentive opportunities included.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration / Commerce, Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline
- CFA, CPA, or MBA an asset
- Significant experience in asset management, wealth management, banking, strategy consulting, or corporate strategy
- Strong understanding of asset and wealth management industry, including industry economics, fee dynamics, distribution models, product structures, and competitive landscape across institutional, wealth, and retail channels
- Strong commercial and strategic instincts with ability to interpret financial metrics and translate into actions
- Advanced analytical and financial modeling capabilities
- Superior communication, executive presentation, and storytelling skills
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior cross-functional leaders and build alignment
- Intellectual curiosity about business models, client needs, and innovation in financial services
- Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-paced environments
- Strong judgment, discretion, and professionalism with Confidential information
- Values-driven, collaborative approach
