Job Summary
Develop and execute key goals aligned to HEABC's strategic direction for compensation and classification services across the BC health sector. Lead the implementation of provincial strategies, including the Compensation Reference Plan and negotiated classification plans, while ensuring compliance with legislation and collective agreements. Build collaborative relationships with member organizations, industry groups, and government agencies to advance provincial health human resources objectives. Provide strategic expertise for interpreting agreements, chair the Compensation and Benefits Advisory Committee, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to modernize services. Prepare executive briefs, business cases, and project plans to drive strategic change.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field
- Ten (10) to fifteen (15) years of progressive senior leadership experience in compensation and classification management
- Preference for experience in a healthcare and unionized environment
- Knowledge of compensation and classification practices and public sector compensation programs
- Understanding of related government legislation, labour relations and applicable collective agreements
- Experience designing, implementing, and evaluating compensation programs
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and best practices
- Ability to effectively resolve problems and conflict
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop staff
- Strong facilitation, negotiation, and influencing skills to achieve results
- Ability to execute on strategic human resource goals and objectives
- Proficiency with computer systems and business applications
- Ability to work under pressure and adjust priorities in a rapidly changing environment
Desired Qualifications
- Designation as a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)
- Designation as a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR)
