Job Summary
Executive Director of Business Innovation oversees enterprise efforts to enhance operational efficiency, scalability, and user experience across Development and Alumni Relations (DAR). This role defines and leads DAR’s approach to process improvement, partners with DAR leaders to identify inefficiencies, and designs scalable, technology-enabled solutions including AI, automation, and workflow tools. Responsibilities include translating business needs into optimized processes, piloting and scaling innovative solutions, ensuring alignment of processes with DAR strategic priorities, leading change management and adoption, and collaborating across Data Strategy, CRM (VandyQuest Operations), and PMO to drive data-informed improvements. The position is hybrid based in the Nashville, TN area with on-campus presence one day per week or more depending on business needs. Additional duties include stakeholder engagement, training program design, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation across the organization. Education: Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred; 10 years of relevant experience in a complex organization, ideally in higher education.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent is required
- 10 years of progressively responsible experience in business process improvement, operations, innovation, or related fields
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives in matrixed environments
- Experience implementing technology-enabled solutions, including automation and workflow tools
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and facilitation skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels
- High level of discretion and ability to manage sensitive, confidential information
