Job Summary
Executive Director, Bureau of Preservation Design Review Services, HPD — lead division to preserve safe, quality, and affordable housing; oversee Substantial and Moderate Rehabilitation Design Review Units and the J-51 Review and Inspections Unit; manage a pipeline of preservation projects, ensure deliverables prior to construction loan closings, mentor staff, collaborate across HPD divisions and external agencies, and shape policies for preservation of affordable housing; requires NYS Architect registration and six years of architectural experience (including at least two years in an administrative role); strong knowledge of NYC building and housing codes, preservation standards for multi-family housing, and experience with HPD design guidelines and preservation loan programs; leadership, writing, and project-management skills highly valued.
Required Qualifications
- Valid New York State Registration as an Architect
- Six (6) years of full-time paid architectural experience, with at least two (2) years as an administrative architect
