Job Summary
Lead kitchen operations by planning menus, directing daily food preparation, and managing staff for the Lodge at Historic Lewes. Develop and implement policies for food service while ensuring compliance with health codes and resident safety standards. Interview, hire, train, and evaluate culinary team members to maintain high morale and operational efficiency. Represent the community to potential residents and families to support occupancy goals. Work evenings, weekends, and maintain 24-hour telephone accessibility.
Required Qualifications
- Full knowledge of local and state health and sanitation and safety codes
- Serve Safe Certified
- Demonstrates proficiency in food handling, preparation, cooking and operation of all kitchen equipment
- Demonstrates proficiency in basic software applications
- Able to take action in solving problems while exhibiting judgment and a realistic understanding of the issues
- Able to clearly present information to the Culinary Services Director, and frontline staff
- Logs work activities and keep accurate work records
- A Culinary degree and/or Certified Dietary Manager (CDM)
- A minimum of 5 years food service management
- Serve Safe Certification
- Ability to work evenings weekends and has telephone accessibility 24 hours a day
