Job Summary
Conduct research and development on menu items using local and seasonal ingredients while inspecting recipe compliance and quality control throughout production. Create production schedules to meet business demands and manage department budgets to exceed labor and cost of good expenditures. Hire, train, and supervise all kitchen and stewarding staff, ensuring adherence to health codes and "Serve safe" regulations. Order, receive, and prepare food items according to Banquet Event Orders, developing creative menus and entertaining prospective clients at Chef's tables. Maintain kitchen equipment cleanliness and actively manage labor efficiencies to reduce costs and enhance the guest experience. Work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays at the Marshall Health Arena in Huntington, WV.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 8 years of culinary experience in high volume facility producing meals for large events
- Must maintain local Health Codes and sanitation HACCP
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Ability to interact with all levels of staff including management
- Ability to work irregular hours as dictated by the event schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Serve-safe certified/Food Handlers Certificate
