Job Summary
Executive Chef at Useless Bay Golf & Country Club leads day-to-day kitchen operations, sets and enforces standards for food quality, sanitation, and safety, and oversees staff development, scheduling, and cost control. Responsibilities include supervising line cooks, maintaining par levels, managing inventories and orders, creating and updating menus, ensuring timely and courteous follow-through with clients and guests, and coordinating with the General Manager on contracts and changes. Requires a culinary arts degree and/or equivalent training with 7+ years in the industry and 2+ years in culinary management, strong communication and leadership skills, proficiency with standard software, and a State Food Handler’s License. This role is based at Langley, WA with in-person work expected at the club facility.
Required Qualifications
- A culinary arts degree and/or equivalent training with 7+ years in industry and 2+ years of experience in culinary management role in a similar environment
- Must possess excellent business communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to manage according to employment and industry-relevant laws
- Conflict management and negotiation skills
- Must be flexible and able to perform multiple tasks in stressful situations with shifting priorities
- Must be familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other computer programs
- Must demonstrate excellent people skills and a professional, friendly, and enthusiastic demeanor
- Be detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, and possess exceptional organizational skills
- Necessary State Food Handler’s License(s)
