Job Summary

Executive Chef leads the culinary operations for all Food & Beverage functions at Coast Calgary University District Hotel by APA. Responsible for designing and pricing menus, maintaining the menu syllabus, ensuring food preparation and service standards, controlling stock to minimize waste, overseeing weekly inventory and food costs, and staffing the kitchen through recruitment, coaching, and development. Builds a strong culinary team, trains on safe food handling and safety procedures, forecasts and budgets labor costs, ensures productive schedules, and upholds Coast Hotels’ standards and guest-service philosophy. Must demonstrate culinary creativity, leadership, and the ability to manage high-volume, fast-paced operations while delivering exceptional guest experiences; flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Required Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience leading a culinary team in a comparable hotel with a strong catering background
  • Red Seal Chef certification
  • Food Safe Level 1 & 2
