Job Summary
Supervise kitchen operations and staff for the Restaurant Room Service, Banquets, and Employee Cafeteria while maintaining food safety, sanitation, and cost control standards. Plan menus, establish recipe cards, and manage daily food inventories to ensure budget compliance and waste reduction. Expedite peak meal periods with a hands-on approach, conduct staff training, and handle hiring, performance appraisals, and payroll scheduling. Review daily food sales reports, manage special promotions, and oversee banquet pricing and menu tastings. Maintain an organized filing system and ensure full compliance with Aimbridge Hospitality policies and brand standards.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field
- 2-year college degree and 3 or more years of related experience
- 4-year college degree and at least 1 to 2 years of related experience
- Culinary Degree with 1 to 2 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field
- Proficiency in Windows operating systems
- Proficiency in company approved spreadsheets
- Proficiency in word processing
- Supervisory experience
- Ability to convey information and ideas clearly
- Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
- Ability to work well in stressful high pressure situations
- Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
- Ability to be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating preventing identifying and solving problems as necessary
- Ability to assimilate complex information data etc from disparate sources and consider adjust or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need
- Ability to be effective at listening to understanding clarifying and resolving the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guests
- Ability to work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions
- Food Handlers certification
