Job Summary
Executive Assistant to the Superintendent responsible for managing the daily operations of the Superintendent’s Office and serving as the primary contact for staff, families, and the New Fairfield community. Duties include coordinating the Superintendent’s calendar, meetings, travel, and special events; preparing correspondence, reports, agendas, meeting materials, minutes, and communications for the Superintendent and Board of Education; providing administrative support to the Board of Education; coordinating Board meeting logistics and governance documents; maintaining confidential files and handling FOIA requests; representing the Superintendent’s Office to stakeholders; coordinating district initiatives and executive-level administrative activities; leveraging Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Board management software, AI tools, and other technology systems to enhance productivity and communication. Requires a Bachelor's degree, minimum five years of relevant experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with discretion. Position to start August 2026 in New Fairfield, CT.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- Minimum of five (5) years of administrative support experience, preferably in education, government, municipal, legal, or executive office settings
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and other technology platforms
- Experience utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies to improve productivity, research, document development, and workflow efficiency
- Outstanding verbal, written, interpersonal, and proofreading skills
- Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and maintain strict confidentiality
- Experience preparing agendas, meeting materials, minutes, reports, and presentations
