Job Summary
Prepare and submit billing data and medical claims to insurance companies, making changes to demographic or insurance information as needed. Analyze coding to ensure proper billing, request clinical documentation, and examine patient charges for accuracy. Compare EOBs to fee schedules, review unpaid or denied claims, and submit appeals while following up with payors. Record financial status of patient accounts and collection efforts. Collaborate with billing team members and report unresolved disputes to management.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 3+ years of experience in a health care financial setting or medical office setting
- previous prior authorization experience
- Must have ability to analyze coding to ensure proper billing of claim
- Must be familiar with an EMR
- Must be familiar with Microsoft Office 365
- Must be able to take responsibility and work under pressure
- Must be a positive team player
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes specific to radiology
- Proficient in medical terminology, especially radiological terms and procedures
- Availability to start as early as 7a and work as last as 6:00pm
