Job Summary
Exceptional Student Services Instructional Assistant in the Peoria Unified School District supports students with disabilities on campus and assists teachers with delivering engaging lessons, implementing teacher-directed accommodations and modifications, and using assistive technology. The role involves supervising individual and small-group activities, monitoring and redirecting behaviors, maintaining student records, and aiding students with daily living skills. Training in CPR, First Aid, CPI, and specialized instruction for students with disabilities is required, as is a high school diploma or GED. Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Must possess or obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Must be able to pass a background clearance check.
- Must be able to provide a Social Security number for AHCCS provider (if applicable).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Arizona driver's license.
- Must be able to complete training and maintain certification in CPR, First Aid, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI), and specialized training for students with disabilities.
