Job Summary
Support students with special needs in the general education setting by adapting classroom activities, administering tests, and implementing research-based interventions under a supervising teacher's direction. Monitor daily schedules and behavior plans while supervising individual and group students across various settings, including hallways, cafeterias, and community field trips. Assist with personal hygiene needs such as diapering and mobility transitions, and intervene in potential conflicts using appropriate physical or therapeutic approaches. Act as a mandated reporter, collect data on IEP goals, and attend meetings to convey progress to instructional and healthcare professionals.
Required Qualifications
- Negative TB test result
- Minimum of sixty (60) academic credit hours from an accredited institution of higher education
- Associate degree (or higher)
- High School Diploma or the equivalent
- Ready to Work Credentials
- WIN Assessment minimum of Silver: Level 4 or higher
- Work Keys passing scores on three areas of Work Keys Assessment: Applied Mathematics (4), Reading for Information (4), Writing (4)
- ParaPro passing score (minimum 456)
