Job Summary
Plan, instruct, and organize instructional environments to support students' educational and social development. Monitor student safety and well-being during inclusive activities while maintaining a clean, orderly classroom. Establish and enforce rules governing student participation, movement, and behavior across whole-class, small group, and seat work activities. Deliver lessons by reviewing prior materials, presenting concepts clearly, assigning tasks, and providing prompt feedback on in-class and out-of-class work. Align instructional plans with system-wide curricular goals, use diagnostic information to adjust objectives, and maintain accurate records of student performance. Treat all students fairly, interact effectively with parents and co-workers, and carry out assigned non-instructional duties in adherence to laws and policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an approved education program in subject area
- North Carolina teaching license
- Ability to constantly monitor the safety and well-being of students, particularly when student is participating in an inclusive activity
- Ability to motivate students
- Ability to maintain a clean and orderly environment
- Ability to perform general clerical duties
- Ability to maintain order and discipline in a classroom
- Ability to operate common office machines
- Ability to maintain basic files and records
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitates by work assignments
- Ability to treat all students in a fair and equitable manner
- Ability to interact effectively with students, co-workers, parents, and community
- Ability to follow a plan for professional development and demonstrates evidence of growth
- Ability to uphold the Code of Ethics and Standards for Professional conduct
