Job Summary
Plan, instruct, and organize instructional environments to support students' educational and social development. Monitor student safety and well-being during inclusive activities while maintaining order and discipline in the classroom. Prepare lesson materials, establish rules for participation and movement, and deliver lessons that maximize student time-on-task. Circulate during class work to check performance, provide feedback on in-class and out-of-class assignments, and document student progress. Align instructional plans with system-wide curricular goals, maintain accurate records, and interact effectively with students, parents, and community members. Perform assigned non-instructional duties and adhere to established laws and professional ethics.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an approved education program in subject area
- North Carolina teaching license
- Ability to constantly monitor the safety and well-being of students, particularly when student is participating in an inclusive activity
- Ability to motivate students
- Ability to maintain a clean and orderly environment
- Ability to perform general clerical duties
- Ability to maintain order and discipline in a classroom
- Ability to operate common office machines
- Ability to maintain basic files and records
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitates by work assignments
- Ability to treat all students in a fair and equitable manner
- Ability to interact effectively with students, co-workers, parents, and community
- Ability to follow a plan for professional development and demonstrates evidence of growth
- Ability to uphold the Code of Ethics and Standards for Professional conduct
