Job Summary
To plan, instruct, and organize instructional environments which help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their educational and social development. The teacher must establish and maintain rules and procedures for classroom management, monitor student safety and well-being during inclusive activities, motivate students, and provide clear, efficient instruction with a brisk pace. Responsibilities include preparing materials for lessons, maintaining order, implementing instructional plans aligned with curricular goals, giving timely feedback on student work, maintaining accurate records, and fulfilling non-instructional duties as assigned. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in education and a North Carolina teaching license; focus on exceptional children and inclusive education, with strong communication, organizational, and classroom-management skills. The role upholds professional ethics and standards and involves collaboration with co-workers, parents, and the community.
