Job Summary
Develop and deliver high-quality, standards-based instruction that supports students' academic, social, and emotional growth. Manage student behavior to minimize disruption and refer students to administration when necessary. Complete all assigned extracurricular duties including bus duty, cafeteria supervision, and playground duty. Prepare daily lesson plans and maintain emergency plans for anticipated or unanticipated absences. Participate in required staff meetings, student-related meetings, and committees while responding to parent inquiries in a timely manner. Coordinate activities of teacher assistants as needed.

- North Carolina Educator's Licensure in the assigned area

- Must be able to safely work in situations of exposure to bloodborne pathogens which may require specialized personal protective equipment
- Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Must be able to establish positive relationships with students
- Must be able to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions
- Must be able to perform under stress, deal with persons acting under stress and adapt when confronted with emergency situations
- Must be able to work with both children and adults with disabilities
