Job Summary
Provide support to the teacher in the instruction of students within a formal classroom setting. Assist with planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating instructional activities; develop classroom procedures and prepare materials. Monitor student safety and behavior, encourage self-esteem, and provide one-on-one assistance as needed. Maintain standardized records, perform clerical duties, operate classroom technology, and assist with preparation of instructional materials. Participate in staff development and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree (or higher) required; or a minimum of 48 semester hours college-level coursework
- Prior experience in instruction and/or supervision of students
- Active Classroom Presence: Regularly moving throughout the classroom and school to support student activities and maintain a safe learning environment
- Common knowledge of core subjects at the grade level to which employment assignment is made
- Ability to follow minimally detailed written and oral instructions without constant supervision
- Ability to record and store data accurately
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information
