Job Summary
Assist teachers with planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating instructional activities; develop classroom procedures and prepare instructional materials; monitor student safety and behavior; provide one-on-one assistance to students; reinforce and clarify instructions; maintain standardized records and documentation of student progress; perform clerical duties and maintain classroom materials; operate audiovisual equipment and classroom technology; participate in staff development; assist with general housekeeping and maintenance tasks in the classroom; support students’ learning and independence under supervisor direction in a 10-month, full-time role.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree (or higher) required; or a minimum of 48 semester hours college-level coursework
- Prior experience in instruction and/or supervision of students
- Minimum Training and Experience: Active Classroom Presence; ability to move throughout the classroom and school; ability to escort students to therapy, cafeteria, buses; readiness to move quickly
- Physical Requirements: dynamic participation in the school environment; ability to communicate effectively; dexterity and handling; ability to supervise and assist students; adaptability to potential hazards; occasional operation of automotive equipment
