Exceptional Children Teacher Assistant for the 2026-2027 School Year

Exceptional Children Teacher Assistant assists teachers and therapists in daily classroom activities with the care and education of children with mental, physical, and emotional disabilities. Responsibilities include supporting classroom management, assisting with individual academic assignments, aiding with gross and fine motor activities, helping with dressing, eating, grooming, toileting and personal hygiene, maintaining records of student progress, assisting therapists, performing clerical duties, implementing established educational programs, monitoring student safety, supporting digital age learning, and supervising students during drills, assemblies, field trips, and lunch/recess. Requires ability to maintain confidentiality, strong communication skills, ability to work with students aged 3–21, and physical ability to stand and lift. Must hold or obtain ETTP certificate within first school year. Term of employment is 10 months; salary grade 56; non-exempt. EOEs statement included.
