Job Summary
EXCEPTIONAL CHILDREN'S TEACHER responsible for planning, organizing and presenting instruction and instructional environments to support students’ educational and social development. Duties include managing instructional time, managing student behavior, instructional presentation, monitoring student performance, and providing instructional feedback. The role also involves facilitating instruction, interacting within the educational environment, and performing non-instructional duties; supervises teacher assistants. Minimum qualification required is a degree in education or a related area that will qualify for licensure as a teacher by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. Physical and interpersonal skills are required to effectively work in an inclusive classroom and maintain safe, orderly environments.
