Job Summary
Manage the ExCEL after-school program at Mid Valley Elementary School by scheduling and coordinating instructors, organizing enrichment activities in STEAM, art, and physical education, and overseeing student discipline. Advise parents on student progress, assist the Program Director with recruitment and state grant reporting, and monitor daily activities to ensure a safe learning environment. Act as a liaison between school administration, instructors, and families while collaborating with community partners to enhance student outcomes. This shared position involves 2 hours daily for 130 days, with compensation provided through a $7,800 stipend. Bilingual English/Spanish skills and an Associate's degree are required.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience in program oversight or management
- Experience with recruitment and coordination of instructors and volunteers
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills
- Associate's degree (the equivalent of 72 quarter credits of college coursework from a regionally accredited college or university)
- Valid driver's license
- Oregon Food Handler's Card
- First Aid/CPR card
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance
- District pre-employment/post-offer drug screen
- Physical abilities assessment
- Skills to motivate students
- Ability to communicate with individuals from varied educational and cultural backgrounds
- Ability to direct support personnel
- Ability to evaluate performance
- Strong bookkeeping, recordkeeping and organizational skills
- Knowledge of age appropriate teaching methods
- Knowledge of state curriculum framework
- Knowledge of education code
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods

Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
- Passing score on the CBEST or other accepted Paraprofessional exam
