Job Summary
Safely operate heavy equipment including excavators, backhoes, dozers, and loaders while performing pre-shift walk-around inspections and preventative maintenance. Maintain positive crew relationships, inspect subordinate work for compliance with plans, and eliminate waste through continuous improvement. Provide feedback to ensure materials and tools are available, share knowledge with the team, and read drawings to ensure accuracy. Work up to 12-hour shifts in varying temperatures, climb frameworks, and lift objects up to 50 lbs. Earn $39 per hour with overtime opportunities as part of a long-term industrial construction team building complex concrete structures.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of three years (level I), four years (level II), five years (level III) and six plus years' experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry
- Must have an in-depth understanding of the operation of various types of heavy construction equipment
- Must be able to read and understand drawings, specifications, safety and quality standards
- Must be able to effectively utilize all trade tools and equipment relevant to the work
- Possess effective verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.)
- Must be able to climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
- Will lift, push or pull objects up to 50lbs. on an occasional basis
- Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
- May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
- May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis
- Must be able to move in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas
- Applicants must pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Must have reliable transportation
