Excavator Operator

Job Summary
Operate excavators and other heavy equipment to perform excavation, trenching, grading, loading, and backfilling according to project plans and site specifications. Read and interpret blueprints and excavation plans; coordinate with ground crews, foremen, and other operators to ensure accurate work. Use attachments such as breakers, buckets, and compactors; inspect and maintain equipment daily; follow PPE and site safety procedures. Travel may be required; work in varying weather and site conditions while meeting productivity and quality expectations. Maintain clean and safe work areas, communicate effectively, and assist with other construction tasks as needed. Maintain awareness of surroundings, follow site safety procedures, and adhere to OSHA regulations.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED required
- 2-3 years of experience of heavy equipment operation in heavy highway or farm experience preferred
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools
- Mathematics
