Job Summary
Operate excavators, haul trucks, loaders, and skid steers to perform excavations, backfilling, trenching, ditching, slope work, erosion control, grubbing, stumping, clearing, and final grading. Transport and move material efficiently while observing hand signals, grade stakes, or markings to ensure work meets specifications. Handle trench boxes of various sizes and maintain daily logs for equipment usage and maintenance. Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental rules while ensuring the safety of the work environment. Maintain equipment daily and possess the ability to sit or stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and distinguish between backup alarms and other site sounds. Work independently with excellent organizational and communication skills, capable of multi-tasking and working diverse teams. Schedule includes 10-12 hour days Monday through Friday with weekends as needed; pay is TBD (DOE) with weekly payment. Provide own PPE and reliable transportation; pass drug screen, physical, and background check.
Required Qualifications
- MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE OPERATING AN EXCAVATOR
- Proficient in excavators of all sizes, haul trucks, loaders and skid steers with some experience on dozer as well
- Well versed handling trench boxes of all sizes and shapes
- Excellent organizational skills, able to multi-task
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent hand, eye and foot coordination
- Ability to work independently and self motivated
- Team player, able to get along with a diverse group of people working towards a common goal
- Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods
- Handle and manipulate objects on a repetitive basis
- Ability to see well and distinguish between back up alarms, voices and other normal sounds consistent with construction job sites
- Have endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Driver's License/Identification
- Social Security Card/Birth Certificate
- Must provide own PPE (Hard hat, steel toes, safety glasses, & gloves)
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to pass a DISA Drug screen, physical, and background check
