Job Summary
Operate excavators and other heavy equipment to deblock, load, and move sulfur material. Steer, guide, and drive equipment using controls; communicate via two-way radio with field and office staff about work activities and priorities. Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local laws, company policies, and safety regulations. Read equipment gauges and perform basic mathematical functions; lift/push/pull up to 25–50 pounds as needed. Training and certifications may be required (Transfer Station/Landfill Operations Certification). This role emphasizes safety, problem-solving, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
Required Qualifications
- Proven ability to operate various excavators and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Ability to obtain Transfer Station/Landfill Operations Certification if required
- Proven ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to handle multiple variables in a standardized setting
- Ability to read and understand equipment gauges and perform basic mathematical functions
- Physical capability to frequently lift/push/pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- Class 3 License with Air Brakes Endorsement is an asset
- Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located
