Job Summary
Conduct specialized cleaning of hospital areas on a daily basis, including dusting, mopping, linen collection, waste removal and disposal, and cleaning of common areas, offices, patient rooms, or specialized areas as assigned. Maintain a favorable productivity level after the training period while ensuring cleanliness to prevent infections and hospital-acquired illnesses for patients, families, employees, physicians, and others. Use basic cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, mops, and other supplies. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to learn all phases of housekeeping duties
- Ability to maintain a favorable productivity level after the training period
- Ability to learn and understand the importance of EVS role in maintaining cleanliness to prevent infections and hospital acquired illnesses of patients, families, employees, physicians, and others
- Ability to speak, understand, and read sufficient English to perform the requirements of the position
- Ability to use basic cleaning equipment such as vaccuum cleaners, mops and other cleaning supplies
- Ability to perform the essential physical requirements of the position as noted on the job description
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Industrial or Healthcare experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish
