EVS Technician Full Time

Job Summary

Perform daily cleaning of patient rooms, restrooms, non-patient areas, and public areas using prescribed procedures and universal precautions. Operate industrial cleaning equipment including the Speed Scrub 300, IMOP machines, and vacuums while moving furniture to ensure adequate access. Handle special cleaning requests, adjust schedules as needed, and remove bio-hazard materials, trash, and dirty linen. Replace soiled linens, keep supply areas stocked, and conduct terminal cleaning to prepare rooms for new patients. Check assigned areas for completion before shift end, assist with new employee orientation, and maintain confidentiality under HIPAA. Work independently in a hospital setting with high patient contact, adhering to infection control policies and demonstrating timeliness and professionalism.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year environmental services experience in hospital setting
  • Must be committed to quality and patient safety at all times
  • Excellent command / highly proficient in spoken and written English
  • Basic computer skills, including but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Meditech Work Orders and email
  • Must be effective at adjusting to change, prioritizing duties, handling stress and effectively communicating face-to-face
  • Must be able to work independently, and flexibly, and as a part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Must be able to manage several interruptions throughout the shift
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written
  • Must have strong time management skills
  • Must be able to work under pressure while interacting in a helpful, courteous manner with a high degree of patient contact
  • Sufficient hearing, vision and dexterity to perform duties safely
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs

  • Must adhere to the assigned schedule and report to work on-time
  • Must abide by the requirements set forth in the Code of Conduct
  • Must recognize, appreciate and incorporate a patient's and family's unique differences, such as culture, spiritual beliefs, gender, race, ethnicity, lifestyle, socioeconomic status, age, and values, into an individualized plan of care or plan of action

Desired Qualifications
