Job Summary
The EVS Tech I will perform daily occupied and discharge/transfer cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas and equipment, maintain and stock environmental services supplies, and support patient experience and cleanliness metrics. Responsibilities include adhering to infection prevention guidelines, safely handling chemicals, promoting a culture of safety, and potentially assisting with onboarding of new Environmental Services Technicians. Skills emphasized include infection control, safe cleaning/disinfection, proper waste handling, use of PPE, basic computer device usability, and clear communication with patients and staff.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to communicate orally or in writing openly and candidly
- Can demonstrate effective use of computers and/or mobile devices for daily job performance
- Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy requirements
- Ability to operate and properly maintain environmental services tools and equipment
- Follows infection prevention practices and PPE protocols
