Job Summary
Supervise Environmental Services Aides to maintain assigned hospital areas in a clean, aseptic, and operationally effective condition. Coordinate housekeeping services across the hospital interior and related properties, ensuring seamless 24-hour coverage. Monitor staff to verify adherence to department policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements while managing cleaning equipment and project work. Lead professional development for employees and resolve conflicts with patients, families, and clinical staff. Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local laws applicable to environmental services compliance.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1 year supervising experience
- Knowledge of regulatory environment
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals
- Proper use and maintenance of power equipment, such as automatic scrubbers, carpet shampooer, etc.
- Proper floor care
- Carpet textile knowledge
- Upholstery fabrics knowledge
- Wall and floor coverings knowledge
- Wood knowledge
- Synthetic finishes knowledge
- Strong supervisory skills to ensure that work techniques, quality assurance standards, department policies and procedures and job specifications are adhered to
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Service recovery skills
- Conflict mediation skills
- Ability to deal courteously and build relationships with employees, patients, families, visitors, nurses, physicians, unit directors, etc.
- Ability to adapt to change
- Ability to accept constructive criticism in a positive constructive manner
- Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws
- Knowledge of accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility
- Ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards
- Immediate reporting of any known or suspected unethical or questionable behaviors or conduct

- Ability to move objects weighing 50 to 100 pounds occasionally
- Ability to move objects weighing 25 to 50 pounds frequently

- Ability to push and/or pull of arm or leg controls
- Ability to work at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials
Desired Qualifications
- Associates degree in Business Administration or Management
- 1 year supervising experience in health care or hotel
