Job Summary
Lead the EVS/Housekeeping team at Jamul Casino by providing daily supervision, coordinating schedules, and ensuring strict adherence to OSHA standards and regulatory compliance. Manage staff development through training sessions, conduct performance evaluations, and handle hiring recommendations while maintaining accurate inventory and reporting property damage. Inspect completed cleaning work, monitor equipment maintenance, and distribute assignments to uphold guest satisfaction and department standards. Requires one-year supervisory experience, proficiency in Microsoft applications, and the ability to operate standard EVS equipment. Must be at least 21 years old and capable of performing physical duties including lifting up to 50 pounds regularly.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diplomas or GED
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- One-year related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to perform the physical job duties of all EVS team members in times of emergencies
- Ability to operate all standard EVS equipment, including, but not limited to: vacuum cleaners, floor machines, carpet extractors, computer, copy machine, mop, broom, and hand-held radio with earpiece operation
- Ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (excel and Words)
- Ability to acquire and maintain appropriate gaming license
- Associates Degree (A.A.) in culinary or related field
- Minimum of four years culinary experience in multiple venues
- Equivalent combination of education and experience (for culinary role)
- Minimum of three years previous supervisory experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to efficiently and accurately count money and gaming chips and make a change
- Possess the ability to operate an adding machine
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to read and communicate verbally in English
- Written communication skills in English
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance
- Must be able to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces
Desired Qualifications
- One-year leader experience preferred in casino or hotel
- Minimum of three years' experience in restaurant, baking and pastry work
- Experience in artisan style bread production
- Experience in ice cream, and sorbet production
- Experience in sugar & chocolate work
- Experience in centerpieces
- Experience in high volume cake production
- Experience in cake decorating and finishing skills
