Job Summary
Cleans ceilings, walls, floors, windows, slot machines, and all related furniture and equipment throughout the Casino and associated buildings. Sweeps, mops, polishes, and strips floors; dusts and polishes blinds and equipment; cleans restrooms and fills dispensers. Vacuums, spot cleans, and shampoos rugs, carpets, and furniture using commercial equipment. Makes continuous rounds to maintain cleanliness standards, stocks supplies, moves furniture as required, and washes dishes. Reports fixture malfunctions and damages to the Porter Lead/Supervisor, initiates work orders for repairs, and replaces light bulbs. Identifies and corrects unsafe practices and conditions while maintaining professional service to Team Members and Guests. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to read English in order to ensure that all chemical handling is conducted in compliance with OSHA and MSDS standards.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- May be required to possess and maintain a California Driver's license and a Black Oak Casino driver's permit.
- Must possess skill in using cleaning products and equipment.
- Must be able to communicate using 2-way radios and/or cell phones.
- Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test.
- Must be able to obtain a valid gaming license.
- Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S.
- Must be able to communicate proficiently in English.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and occasionally more with assistance.
- Must be physically able to perform all job requirements.
- Required to work at heights such as on scaffolding, ladders, or platforms.
- Required to wear protective equipment due to possible exposure to chemicals or Blood Borne Pathogens.
- Must be able to work in a non-smoke free environment.
- Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to work in a noisy environment.
- Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays, and special events.
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
- Prefer one (1) year of custodial experience, or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education, from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment, products, techniques, and standards preferred.
