Job Summary
Maintain optimum cleanliness and disinfection in patient care, ancillary, and public areas by dust mopping, damp mopping spillage, reconditioning floors, spot washing walls, and complete cleaning of patient rooms and restrooms. Operate cleaning equipment, move heavy objects like beds and desks, and properly dispose of medical and regular waste. Escort patients to and from units, assist with lifting, and transport deceased patients to the morgue while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Keep equipment clean and in good repair, maintain departmental policies, and participate in mandatory educational programs. Full-time evening shift every other weekend; salary $19.00/hr plus $1.15 differential. Heart Saver Certification required.
Required Qualifications
- Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position.
- Must possess and maintain Heart Saver Certification.
- Must possess and maintain Heart Saver Certification.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more.
- Must be able to lift, position, push and/or transfer patients.
- Must be able to push, pull or move heavy equipment/supplies.
- Must be able to reach, stoop, bend, kneel and/or crouch.
- Must have manual dexterity and mobility.
- Must be able to perform other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the department and organization.
Desired Qualifications
- Housekeeping experience a plus but not required.
- Minimum of 1 year previous patient care experience preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalency preferred.
