Job Summary

Own preconstruction end-to-end, from the first conceptual estimate through GMP, while actively expanding market presence with developers, property owners, and commercial clients across the Pacific Northwest. Partner closely with the Chief Strategy Officer and CEO to shape competitive strategy by sharpening pricing philosophy, advancing alternative delivery methods like Design-Build and Progressive Design Build, and positioning preconstruction as a key differentiator. Lead large, cross-functional teams in estimating, BIM/VDC, scheduling, and procurement to drive revenue growth and business development success in the commercial construction sector.

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in commercial construction
  • significant tenure in preconstruction and/or business development leadership
  • A Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of work experience and education
  • Experience in business ownership, business acquisition, market growth, and the development of new service offerings
  • Demonstrated track record of revenue growth and business development success in the PNW commercial construction market
  • Deep expertise in alternative project delivery: Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, and/or GCCM
  • Experience leading large, cross-functional preconstruction teams (estimating, BIM/VDC, scheduling, procurement)
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills; ability to engage and influence at the C-suite and owner/developer level
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Expert organizational, scheduling, and planning skills
  • Solid budget and cost estimating skills
  • Effective leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; exceptional listening skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible, adaptable, and manage stress under pressure when experiencing setbacks and challenges
  • Demonstrated ability to delegate and assign responsibility to others, work collaboratively on a team, and hold others accountable
  • Demonstrated ability to respond constructively to feedback, coaching and change

Desired Qualifications

  • DBIA professional designation
  • Established network among PNW commercial real estate developers, architects, and owners
  • Experience scaling a construction business unit through a high-growth phase
  • Knowledge of emerging methods and technology in commercial construction, especially in AI use cases
  • Expertise in contract and documentation practices used in commercial construction
  • Working knowledge of financial reports and financial analysis used in Service Group and/or Special Projects
  • Comfortable learning new technologies
  • Effectively communicates with new and diverse groups of people
