Job Summary
Maintains chain of custody and storage integrity for all evidence and found property; inventories, tags, scans, and tracks receipts; transports evidence between warehouses, sub-stations, labs, and facilities; conducts dispositions and court-related documentation; may testify as to chain of custody; supports potential UMFCL work; requires knowledge of evidence handling, courtroom procedures, computer software, and physical demands; includes on-call, overtime, and diverse shifts; must possess CCIC/NCIC, IAPE (CPES), a valid driver’s license, CPR/First Aid, and forklift operation; typical duties include inventory control, records management, and interaction with agency staff and the public; benefits include medical, dental, vision, retirement, and paid time off; background and suitability examinations are part of the selection process.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or GED equivalent
- One (1) year of experience in evidence handling and/or inventory control
- CCIC/NCIC Certification within initial status period
- IAPE Certification (CPES) after initial status period of one year
- Valid Colorado Driver's license
- CPR and First Aid certification within initial status period
- Ability to operate forklift
- Typing Test: 25 WPM or faster corrected
- Background/Examination: eSkill Test, Phase I Suitability Exam, Polygraph, Medical, Drug Screen, etc.
