Job Summary
Engineering Manager to lead a Joist product development squad within EverCommerce, guiding a multi-disciplinary team to design, implement, and deliver scalable software in an Agile environment. The role emphasizes leadership, mentorship, architecture, and collaboration across Product Management, Design, and QA/SDET, with a strong focus on delivering value to contractors using Joist. Candidate must have hands-on software development experience, a track record of growing engineers, and the ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly while driving delivery and quality. Bonus skills include Ruby on Rails, React, iOS (Swift), or Android (Kotlin); degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred; role supports remote/onsite/hybrid work within the United States or Canada.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience leading engineers as their direct manager in a product development environment
- 5+ years of professional industry experience as a software developer working in agile teams
- Experience mentoring and growing other engineers
- Experience managing cross-functional product squads including Product Management, Design, and QA/SDET
- Ability to take ownership of software projects from scoping/estimation to live in production
- Experience and passion for Agile, DevOps and Lean approaches
- Ability to collaborate with Product Management to experiment, iterate, andship fast for customers
- Clear technical communication; comfort with deeply technical topics
