Job Summary
Lead the events culinary team to plan and execute on- and off-site catering for donor dinners, VIP lunches, volunteer sessions, and public events; manage food production, menu development, staff and volunteer supervision, inventory, and event logistics; run weekly volunteer sessions and supervise kitchen operations when the Event Chef de Cuisine is unavailable; ensure food safety and sanitation standards, collaborate on menu planning and culinary projects, utilize donated food to minimize waste, and mentor lead cooks, line cooks, and volunteers in a high-volume, scratch-cooking environment; requires six years cooking experience, ServSafe, California driver’s license, ability to work evenings/weekends, and legal authorization to work in the United States.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum six years of cooking experience
- Catering environment experience preferred
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- ServSafe Certification required
- California driver's license required
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Background check required
- Drug and TB testing required
- Ability to stand for long periods in kitchen
- Ability to lift/move items in kitchen
- Experience supervising lead cooks, line cooks, bakers, and volunteers
- Experience with food inventory management, product ordering, and kitchen logistics
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
- Demonstrated experience in high-volume scratch-cooking environments
- Commitment to serving individuals and families experiencing homelessness
