Job Summary
The Events Coordinator will serve as the liaison to clients/rights holders/promoters during rentals, concerts, and non-athletic events at the Mike Jacob Sports Park. Primary duties include coordinating operational aspects of events, communicating with clients, managing sponsor deliverables, developing and monitoring event timelines, securing entertainment & vendors, coordinating changeovers with the Operations Team, maintaining inventory of supplies/equipment, assisting with hiring decisions and supervising facility operations staff, performing Manager on Duty shifts, organizing event-day cleaning and venue setup/tear-down, delivering premier customer service, ensuring guest satisfaction, and supporting both small and large-scale sporting and other events. Strong knowledge of audio/visual setup and operation is required, along with the ability to work with internal departments and stakeholders to meet deadlines and deliver successful events.
Required Qualifications
- Flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, holidays and long hours
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain focus in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Must have excellent guest service skills
- Must be detail-oriented with outstanding organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Must be respectful and friendly to clients, members, guests, visitors, and team members
- Must take personal initiative for the betterment of the team and facility
- Experience in managing staff to effectively execute a successful event
- 1-3 years' experience in event management is preferred
- Proven success in managing multiple events at one time
- Knowledge of sound, lighting, and video operation
- Knowledge of supervisory principles, with emphasis on training part-time operations team members
- Experience and success in customer service, leadership, and organization
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, hospitality, event planning, or related field is preferred
- Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays, long hours) and regular attendance necessary; nights & weekends are required
