Job Summary

Conceptualize and coordinate events across the North America Advocacy team, including convenings, panels, donor events, and conference activations from concept through post-event wrap-up. Manage full event logistics, including venue selection, vendor coordination, budgeting, run-of-show development, and on-site execution. Serve as the central point of contact for event details, coordinating guest lists, timelines, and messaging while tracking spend against budget. Assist with partnership development by vetting opportunities and supporting outreach to stakeholders. Draft communications to ensure consistent engagement and maintain stakeholder databases. This role sits at the center of the team, working across policy, advocacy, and government relations to deliver events that advance ONE's mission in Africa.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years of professional experience in event planning, coordination, or hospitality
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. or Canada
  • Fluency in English

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Comfort working with vendors, venues, and external partners
  • including negotiating contracts and managing logistics
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency with event management, CRM, or registration tools (e.g., Cvent, Eventbrite, Salesforce) and standard office software
  • Knowledge and understanding of effective project management
  • Proactive, problem-solving attitude and excellent organizational skills
  • Flexibility to travel and to work some evenings or weekends around event schedules
  • Proficiency in other languages such as French and German
