Events and Ministry Coordinator (Onsite, Volunteer)

Job Summary
Plan and host 2 events each month for residents in the apartment community to care for, connect residents to one another and to services or local businesses; provide a caring touch to residents and staff; enhance online reputation by inviting residents to share their experiences; develop marketing materials (monthly calendars, event flyers, social media posts); manage the event budget; prepare monthly summaries; meet with staff and program director for planning, equipping, and development; engage volunteers, vendors, and community partners to maximize impact. Onsite, Durham, NC. Requires 18+, eligibility to work in the U.S., English fluency, driver's license and liability insurance, reliable transportation, ability to lift up to 25 pounds, evening/weekend availability, and minimum term commitment. Preferred qualifications include experience in event planning, budgeting, social media, and building a network of volunteers or partners, with a note that LinkedIn/profile submissions are optional.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Be legally eligible to work in the United States
- Have basic fluency in English to compose marketing elements for the community and required reports for the property management company
- Possess a current driver's license and liability insurance, and access to a form of reliable transportation to complete coordinator duties such as shopping for events and connecting with vendors
- Be physically able to use stairs, bend, sit, stand, stoop, and carry up to 25 pounds
- Have the availability to commit weekly hours to perform job responsibilities, mainly in the evenings and weekends when most residents are home
- Be able to make the minimum term commitment to serving in the apartment community
